Against All Odds
| I am glad I moved from Kentucky to California, for here I
get fair treatment for my mental illness. At a young age I was
hospitalized for observation and was treated with insulin shocks and LSD
as an experimental drug. When I came home I overdosed which landed me
back in a state hospital and I was given electric shock treatment. That
was very scary. I quit school, worked for a dental assistant, and got
married. It was a strained marriage. After the divorce I overdosed
again. This became a pattern. Now after many hospital stays, after
trying many different medications I am able to recognize the symptoms
and immediately have my medicines adjusted.
